Services / Copywriting
Website copy, email sequences, and long-form content from a former digital editor who has read more bad corporate writing than anyone should have to survive.
Most business copy reads like it was assembled by committee, because it usually was. Someone in marketing wanted the word "innovative" on page one. Someone in legal wanted three qualifiers on every claim. Someone senior wanted their favourite phrase from a conference keynote wedged into paragraph two. The result says nothing, promises nothing, and gets skipped by every reader who's ever been sold to before, which is all of them.
We write the version that survives that process. Or better, we skip the process and write it right the first time.
Earl Coetzee spent eighteen years in newsrooms and in corporate comms before he spent a day at an agency: television, radio, print, and most recently as Digital Editor at a national paper before it closed its doors earlier this year. That background means the copy gets edited the way a front page gets edited, for clarity first and cleverness a distant second. A line that exists to make the writer look smart rather than inform the reader gets cut, regardless of who wrote it.
We rebuilt the editorial strategy behind a major national news brand's digital transformation pitch, turning newsroom instinct into a content system a publisher's board could actually approve.
We'll tell you honestly whether copy is the fix, or whether the problem's somewhere else entirely.
